Chairman’s message

Dear all,

Since our last newsletter life has changed for us all. I hope this finds you safe and well, no doubt fulfilling jobs that you never had time to complete before. My 2020 vision did not include a pandemic!

You will know by now that the ISGF World conference has been postponed until 2021. In fact this month we should have been visiting beautiful Chester for our own scheduled Annual meeting.

It is unlikely that we will be able to hold one this year. However with the wonders of modern technology we are proposing to hold a virtual Annual Meeting by way of Zoom. The plan is that the meeting will be held on Saturday 20th June at 7.30pm. If you would like to participate you will need to email the secretary at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by the end of May. She will then send you a link to the meeting. Perhaps this will allow more people to attend this year.

The agenda for the meeting will be sent with this newsletter together with a nomination form. A few of the present committee have either completed their term of office or have had to relinquish their position due to ill health. Nominations too need to be into Jane by the end of the month.  It would be great if some new faces came forward.

You will know from previous newsletters that  some members from SAGFUK visited Uganda to see how our money had been spent building huts for Syrian refugees. At the Annual meeting we hope to update you on this and provide news of our newest project concerning rabbits. With lockdown measures happening in most countries, projects that give people hope for their future are vital.

I look forward to meeting you virtually in June but in the meantime please stay safe and well.

Muriel
