The 2017 Annual General Meeting and Gathering will take the form of a City break, 12th – 15th May, in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Our AGM will take place on the Saturday and everyone is welcome to join us for all or any part of the weekend, please bring your friends along too as we need to grow our numbers and increase the visibility and awareness of the International Scout and Guide Fellowship in the UK.

The Saturday venue is St Andrew's Church and Hall, Newgate Street, with a 10am for 10.30am start. The provisional programme is that after the opening Reflection we will have a guided tour of the historic church – this is the oldest church in Newcastle with Saxon roots and a rich history. Morning coffee may be taken with church members at their weekly coffee morning. There will be time afterwards to take part in group activities.

A light buffet lunch will be served to registered attenders.

The AGM will be held after lunch in the Church Hall, although this is on the first floor there is chair lift for the 'less active'. The formal business will be kept to a minimum to allow our guest speaker, Jean Edusei, County Chairman of Newcastle Trefoil Guild and Chairman of our charity for 2017, The Ghanaian Children's Trust, plenty of time to demonstrate the valuable work done by the charity.

The meeting will close by 4.30pm

Hotel Accomodation: visitors need to make their own hotel arrangements but we can recommend staying at the Newcastle Premier Inn (The Gate) 95 Newgate Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 5RF, which is adjacent to Andrew's Church. This hotel is a new opening situated in the former Co-op Department Store, an imposing art-deco building in central Newcastle, close to the Eldon Square shopping Malls, China town and central facilities.

Members may wish to join an informal (pay -as-you-go) group dining out together on Saturday evening – this can be arranged on the day.

A Sunday day-time programme for those staying-over will be arranged subject to demand; choices may include Open-top bus tour, Qayside Sunday Market, River Cruise on the Tyne, car-based visit to th Baden-Powell 1st Scout camp site and cairn...or shopping!!

To assist us with the arrangements we would be grateful if you would pre-register your intention to attend. The £10 per person registration fee includes morning coffee, buffet lunch and afternoon drink.
